ExxonMobil subsidiary short listed for China gas pipeline project

Petroleum News Alaska Staff

Exxon Mobil Corp. said June 5 that its subsidiary, ExxonMobil China Gas Pipeline Ltd., in cooperation with CLP, has been short-listed as a foreign participant by PetroChina Co. Ltd. for the west-to-east gas pipeline project in China.

The project will take gas from fields in the Tarim Basin in the Xinjiang region of Western China and from the Ordos Basin in Central China. The proposed 2,500 mile pipeline will transport gas from these fields to the emerging gas markets in and around Shanghai in Eastern China.
