Mazzolini leaves to work for FEX

The word on the street is that Paul Mazzolini has given notice to ConocoPhillips Alaska and is going to work for FEX, a subsidiary of Calgary-based Talisman Energy.

Mazzolini has been with ConocoPhillips’ exploration department for several years — if PN’s memory is correct, since ARCO Alaska days. The last title PN had in its files for him was exploration drilling team leader.

FEX has two rigs under contract and is planning to drill as many as five wells in the National Petroleum Reserve-Alaska this coming winter (see exploration story on page 10).

Rumor is Mazzolini will head up the company’s exploration team in Alaska, but FEX has not yet made a formal announcement.
