CORRECTION: First North Slope lease sale in 1964

An article in the March 8 issue incorrectly described the state’s 1965 lease sale as its first North Slope sale. North Slope acreage was offered in December 1964 as part of a mixed sale which also included Southcentral acreage. The state’s sale location for that sale, sale 12, describes the North Slope acreage offered as “Prudhoe West,” or Kuparuk. Sale 13, in July 1965, was the first sale offering exclusively North Slope acreage.
