Mining News: TerraX discovers more high-grade gold, silver

TerraX Minerals Inc. July 18 reported high-grade gold and silver in the first batch of results from surface sampling from the Eastbelt property, the newest addition to the company’s Yellowknife City Gold project immediately adjacent to the capital of Northwest Territories. "The discovery of high grade gold and silver during surface sampling on our newly acquired Eastbelt property is an excellent start to an extensive district scale exploration program now underway,” said TerraX CEO Joe Campbell. The two most significant areas identified so far – Angel and Duck Lake – are roughly 2,500 meters and 8,000 meters east of the historical Con Mine, respectively. Highlights from samples collected from outcrop at Angel include 65.7 grams per metric ton gold and 289 g/t silver; and 30.8 g/t gold and 4,910 g/t silver. The highest grade samples from Duck Lake are 20.3 g/t and 19.35 g/t gold. “The Angel and Duck Lake areas both have significant outcropping mineralization which occurs in a strong east-west structural trend that is due east of the past producing high grade Con gold mine. In addition, the impressive silver results at Angel indicate an exciting new style of mineralization that has not been previously reported in the camp," Campbell added. Surface exploration on the Yellowknife City Gold project is continuing, which will be followed up with geophysical surveys later this year.
