Production breaks 1 million mark first time since May

October Alaska North Slope production edged up toward a million barrel-a-day average, driven by colder temperatures, and total state production, including Cook Inlet, broke the million barrel a day average for the first month since May.
North Slope production averaged 993,317 barrels a day in October, up 8.79 percent from a September average of 913,038 barrels a day, an 80,279 barrel-a-day increase.
The Department of Revenue noted that there was one eight-hour shutdown of the trans-Alaska pipeline Oct. 7 for scheduled maintenance and a 25 hour production day on Oct. 29 because of the end of daylight savings time. The average temperature at Pump Station 1 was 18.7 degrees Fahrenheit in October, 0.3 degrees above the four-year average of 18.4 degrees.
Largest increase at Prudhoe All North Slope fields averaged more production per day in October than in September.
Prudhoe Bay production averaged 577,031 barrels a day in October, up 12.36 percent from an average of 513,537 barrels a day for September, an increase of 63,494 barrels a day.
Kuparuk production averaged 234,686 barrels a day in October, up 5 percent from a September average of 223,506 barrels a day, an 11,180 barrel a day increase.
Production at Lisburne (Lisburne, Point McIntyre, Niakuk) averaged 92,301 barrels a day in October, up 3.19 percent from an average of 89,451 barrels a day in September, an increase of 2,850 barrels a day.
Milne Point production averaged 50,250 barrels a day in October, up 0.65 percent from an average of 49,924 barrels a day in September, an increase of 326 barrels a day.
Endicott averaged 39,049 barrels a day in October, up 6.63 percent from a September average of 36,620 barrels a day, an increase of 2,429 barrels a day.
Cook Inlet production for October averaged 31,053 barrels a day, up 13.68 percent from a September average of 27,316 barrels a day, an increase of 3,737 barrels a day.
