WesternGeco to shoot summer seismic

WesternGeco LLC has applied to the Alaska Department of Natural Resources Division of Oil and Gas and to the U.S. Minerals Management Service Alaska Outer Continental Shelf Region to shoot up to 350 square miles of seismic in the Beaufort Sea.

The work will be done for BP Exploration (Alaska) Inc. in the Beaufort Sea between Brownlow Point (western Camden Bay) and Cape Halkett (eastern Harrison Bay). WesternGeco said this will be an ocean bottom cable marine seismic survey using airguns. The work will be done between July 1 and Oct. 31.
