DOE selects Arctic Energy Ambassadors

The U.S. Department of Energy's Arctic Energy Office has selected 12 Arctic Energy Ambassadors to help foster energy security while also helping advance the clean energy transition in Alaska. Each ambassador represents one region of the state. The ambassador program has been developed by the Arctic Energy Office, in collaboration with the Denali Commission and the Alaska Municipal League. The program is aligned with the DOE's Arctic Strategy, DOE says.
The ambassadors will be "tasked with articulating community and regional needs; connecting stakeholders; promoting capacity development; facilitating regional technical assistance; and developing replicable projects," DOE says. The agency selected the ambassadors through a competitive application process, based on their experience and connections to regional energy development, grant writing skills, and support from their host organizations.
