Cook Inlet, Alaska Peninsula info calls
The Alaska Department of Natural Resources, Division of Oil and Gas, has issued a call for substantial new information for its proposed spring 2014 oil and gas lease sales.
The Cook Inlet areawide lease sale covers some 4.2 million acres, 815 tracts, within the Matanuska-Susitna, Anchorage and Kenai boroughs, an area bounded on the east by the Chugach and Kenai mountains and on the west by the Aleutian Range.
The Alaska Peninsula areawide lease sale area is some 4 million acres onshore and 1.75 million acres offshore, 1,047 tracts, from the Nushagak Peninsula in the north, down the north side of the Alaska Peninsula to the vicinity of Cold Bay.
Best interest findings have been issued for both sale areas. Prior to annual sales the division solicits new information and based on the information it receives it will issue a decision of no substantial new information or a decision to supplement the best interest finding.
The deadline for new information is Nov. 29.
