Accumulate signs rig for Icewine

Accumulate Energy Alaska Inc. has pushed back the spud date for its Icewine well.

The local subsidiary of the Australian independent 88 Energy Ltd. recently signed a contract with Doyon Drilling Inc. to use the Arctic Fox rig for the North Slope well.

The Arctic Fox is currently drilling at the Horseshoe well southwest of the Kuparuk River unit for Armstrong Oil & Gas Inc. Accumulate Energy expects to mobilize the rig to the well site between March 30 and April 30 and begin drilling the Icewine No. 2 well “shortly thereafter.” The company had original scheduled a first quarter spud date.

The Icewine No. 2 well would be located in the central North Slope, south of the Prudhoe Bay unit, just west of the trans-Alaska oil pipeline and Dalton Highway corridor.
