Group says Cook Inlet needs more safeguards

Petroleum News Alaska Staff

The Cook Inlet Regional Citizens Advisory Council, a Kenai-based oil transportation watchdog formed in the wake of the 1989 Prince William Sound spill, last month said Cook Inlet is just as primitive and dangerous for shippers now as it was a decade ago.

The group is calling a public forum Sept. 9-10 in Homer to address the issue.
