IOGCC web site offers place for oilfield equipment swaps, sales
Higher oil and natural gas prices over the past year have spawned a surge in drilling activity, but many in the industry have been frustrated by a lack of available equipment and long waits for available services.
Higher oil and natural gas prices over the past year have spawned a surge in drilling activity, but many in the industry have been frustrated by a lack of available equipment and long waits for available services.
With that in mind, the Interstate Oil and Gas Compact Commission, based in Oklahoma City, Okla., has created the Oilfield Parts and Equipment Center on its website ìthat offers manufacturers a forum to buy, sell or trade surplus manufacturing equipment. We think this idea will translate well to the oil and natural gas industry, and the IOGCC is the logical place for it," said Arkansas Gov. Mike Huckabee, IOGCC chairman-elect.
The Oilfield Parts and Equipment Center at www.iogcc.state.ok.us/Used_Equipment/Main.html allows companies to list equipment available for sale.
Descriptions of the available equipment include the seller's contact information.
There is no charge for the service, and IOGCC does not take part in any financial transactions, Huckabee said.
