On. Oct. 3, Kirsten Hoppe, an environmental specialist for Hilcorp Alaska, received a letter from Alexander Zinck, North Slope permitting manager for Alaska's Division of Oil and Gas, approving Hilcorp North Slope's Prudhoe Bay Unit, CC2A, Storage Tent Placement Unit Plan of Operations Amendment.
Hilcorp North Slope had requested authorization to move a 25' by 32' storage tent from PBE Tarmac Pad to the CC2A Pad within the Prudhoe Bay Unit.
The tent will be used at CC2A for cold storage and is mounted to a relocatable rail roll skid. It will sit on the surface of the existing gravel pad. No ground disturbance or trenching will be required.
CC2A is 13 miles northwest of Deadhorse Airport.
The division provided a review and comment opportunity for the activities considered for authorization under this decision.
The following government entities were notified on Sept. 22, 2025, for comment on the plan: US Army Corps of Engineers (USACE), Alaska Department of Environmental Conservation (ADEC), Department of Fish and Game (ADF&G), Alaska Department of Natural Resources: Division of Mining, Land, and Water (DMLW), and the North Slope Borough (NSB). The comment deadline was Oct. 2, 2025. There were no comments received.
This approval signifies only that the State of Alaska has no objection to the operations outlined in the plan amendment application. It does not constitute certification of any property right or land status claimed by the applicant nor does it relieve the applicant of responsibility to obtain
approvals or permits from other persons or governmental agencies that may also be required.
All stipulations contained in the original lease and subsequent plan approvals remain in full force and effect. If activities have not commenced, this approval expires on Oct. 3, 2028.
Any questions or concerns about this amendment may be directed to Natural Resource Specialist Jack McGowan at (907) 269-8940 or emailed to [email protected].
