Providing coverage of Alaska and northern Canada's oil and gas industry
August 2011

Vol. 16, No. 35 Week of August 28, 2011

Slemons in new slot; Jones spec. asst.

Two State of Alaska oil and gas related personnel items of note:

Jonne Slemons is the new deputy director at the Alaska Division of Oil and Gas.

Jeff Jones has been hired by Gov. Sean Parnell as a special assistant.

Sharon Leighow, the governor’s spokeswoman, told Petroleum News in an email that Jones will cover resources — the Department of Fish and Game, the Department of Natural Resources and the Department of Environmental Conservations. He will also represent the governor’s office on the Alaska Gasline Development Corp.

Jones was previously with the Alaska Journal of Commerce.

The Division of Oil and Gas website says Slemons has been with the state for 14 years, first with the Department of Fish and Game and the Department of Environmental Conservation and most recently with DNR’s Division of Oil and Gas where she has been manager of the permitting section, coordinator of the Petroleum Systems Integrity Office and chief of the leasing and permitting section.
