The 18th Annual Society of Petroleum Engineers barbecue and raffle will be at the Petroleum Club Nov. 7.

Event proceeds provide scholarship opportunities for Alaska high school and college students interested in engineering careers. In 2001, the Alaska section of the SPE awarded nine scholarships totaling $13,500.
