Oil Patch Bits: Theresa Phillips-Guim joins Ukpeagvik Iñupiat Corp.

The Ukpeagvik Iñupiat Corp. said that Theresa Phillips-Guim joined its team bringing with her more than 15 years of experience in human resource management including recruitment, employee relations, policy development, Alaska Native/diversity hire programs, employee relocations, regulatory compliance, training programs, succession planning, compensation and benefits programs and EEO/affirmative action. She also brings her diverse background in multiple areas including the oil industry, military personnel management, education and training, community networking/partnerships and business. Guim holds a bachelor’s degree in business administration and human resource management from Wayland Baptist University, also a UCLA executive human resources program certification. She is a skilled HR consultant, executive advisor and leader. As human resources director for UIC, her job accountabilities include all aspects of human resource program management for approximately 3,400 employees companywide.

Guim is the current chair of the Human Resources Advisory Board for the Anchorage Mayor’s Office. She has served on various boards such as APPIC, WCCA Board, oil industry safety committees and she is a past military post mayor of Hunter Army Airfield in Savannah, Georgia. Guim is a leader in her local Anchorage church and the matriarch of her family. She enjoys playing the piano, biking, traveling and gardening.
