Canada’s Natural Resources Minister John Efford has appointed a retired Northwest Territories civil servant to oversee matters related to the C$7 billion Mackenzie Gas Project.

Scottish-born David Hamilton takes the on the responsibility along with his appointment to the National Energy Board.

He retired as clerk of the legislative assembly of the Northwest Territories a year ago after serving for more than 20 years.
