U.K. firm to build refinery in eastern Russia off the coast of Magadan

%]?%2D?td. of the United Kingdom signed an agreement to construct an oil refinery in eastern Russia off the coast of Magadan, Chuck Becker of the U.S. Department of Commerce said in a recent statement.

The refinery, which will be located in Nagaeva Bay near Magadan’s commercial port, will be capable of processing 1 million tons of oil per year. Initially it will process just Sakhalin oil but the Russian government is reviewing proposals to explore and develop other offshore oil reserves in the area.
