Tesoro plans full turnaround at refinery

Tesoro is planning a full turnaround at its Kenai Refinery this spring, according to company executives, who spoke to analysts during a teleconference on Feb. 20. The work is scheduled to begin in April or May, and will last “less than a month,” according to Everett Lewis, chief operating officer of Tesoro.

During the turnaround, the company will “shut the whole refinery down,” Lewis said. The 72,000-barrel-per-day Kenai Refinery produces most of the gasoline used in Alaska. Tesoro is also planning work hydrocrackers in California near the end of the year.
