Arctic Oil & Gas Directory: CH2M HILL signs agreement with Statoil Canada Ltd.

CH2M HILL, a global full-service consulting, design, construction and operations firm, said Jan. 18 that it is pleased to announce the recent signing of a significant Framework Agreement with Statoil Canada Ltd. Valued at nearly $400 million, total installed cost, CH2M Hill’s FA is for engineering, procurement, construction.

“CH2M HILL Canada is very excited about the opportunity to work with Statoil,” said Tom Searle, president of CH2M HILL Canada. “They’re revolutionizing the industry and our people are up to the challenge. It’s an exciting time to be at CH2M HILL and this is a game changer for our oil sands initiative.”

“We wanted a partner that shared Statoil’s core values of being courageous, open, hands-on and caring,” said Cindy McEwan, procurement manager with Statoil Canada Ltd. “CH2M HILL’s reputation on ethics, the environment and caring for people, and its excellent project delivery capabilities, were significant factors in our decision.”

Northern Alberta, where Statoil’s Leismer Demonstration Project is being constructed, contains the world’s largest known reserves of unconventional oil. Statoil is developing this resource in close consultation with local communities and environmental groups.
