State OKs 7 minor transactions in August

August proved to the quietest month in recent memory, as far as lease transactions.

The Alaska Department of Natural Resources recorded only seven transactions by two companies for the month, as opposed to the dozens usually recorded in a given month.

The state issued seven leases in the Beaufort Sea to the independent company Alaska LLC, which acquired the acreage in a November 2014 sale in a 50-50 partnership with Paul Gavora for $122,196.80. The leases are ADL 392714, ADL 392675, ADL 392676, ADL 392704 and ADL 392713 and cover approximately 11,660 acres. The state also approved the transfer of the two leases in the Middle Ground Shoal field from XTO Energy Inc. to Hilcorp Alaska LLC, which acquired the Cook Inlet field in July.
