Mining News: Northern Neighbors: Alexco expands high-grade silver zone at Keno Hill’s Bermingham

Alexco Resource Corp. Sept. 13 provided the first round of drill program results in the Bermingham deposit area of its Keno Hill Silver District, Yukon Territory. The company said this drilling has confirmed and expanded Bear zone, the high-grade zone previously discovered at Bermingham. One hole drilled this year, K-16-0608, cut 7.5 meters true width of 2,715 grams per metric ton silver, including 2.4 meters of 6,391 g/t silver in. This high-grade intercept was encountered about 100 meters down plunge from the deepest intercept reported in 2015. Overall, all other composite intercepts in the high-grade Bear Zone range between 504 g/t to 7,462 g/t (0.5 to 7.46 kilograms per metric ton) silver over composited true thicknesses ranging from 1.3 to 6.4 meters. “The style, tenor and continuity of the mineralization, plus the continuing thickness of the high-grade zone as we drill deeper (but still less than 400 meters from surface) are most encouraging,” said Alexco CEO Clynt Nauman.
