Butcher to AHFC, Fauske to AGDC
In a shake-up with the potential to impact day-to-day oil and gas operations in the state, as well as some big projects, Alaska Housing Finance Corp. Executive Director Dan Fauske is taking over the top spot at the Alaska Gasline Development Corp. and Department of Revenue Commission Bryan Butcher will replace Fauske at AHFC.
With oil production funding upward of 90 percent of the state budget in any given year, the Department of Revenue holds great importance in the daily life of Alaska oil producers. Deputy Commissioner of Treasury Angela Rodell will serve as acting commissioner of Revenue until Gov. Sean Parnell names a permanent replacement.
“Under Commissioner Butcher’s outstanding leadership, the More Alaska Production Act became a reality, Alaska achieved and maintained a AAA+ credit rating, and Revenue put in place a more reasoned and accurate long-term oil production forecast,” Parnell said in a statement on Aug. 7.
The Alaska Gasline Development Corp. is responsible for advancing a major project to develop a North Slope natural gas pipeline to serve energy needs within the state.
“AHFC and Alaska have been well served thanks to Dan’s extraordinary management qualities,” Parnell said. “I thank him for his many years of service to AHFC and have no doubt Dan will lead AGDC to a prosperous path as we bring Alaska’s gas to Alaskans and markets beyond.”
