MMS extends Liberty DEIS comment period to April 13

Petroleum News Alaska Staff

The U.S. Department of the Interior’s Minerals Management Service said March 12 that the comment period on the draft environmental impact statement for BP Exploration (Alaska) Inc.’s Beaufort Sea Liberty project has been extended an additional 30 days to April 13.

The original deadline was March 13. MMS said the extension will allow it to complete public hearings on the North Slope and give the public more time to submit written comments to the agency.

For information about the public hearings, or to receive a copy of the draft EIS, call Fred King at 907-271-6696 or Robin Cacy at 907-271-6070, or toll-free at 1-800-764-2627. Requests also may be sent via e-mail to [email protected]
