Murkowski chief of staff named to high Energy Department post

President Bush intends to nominate David Garman, Sen. Frank Murkowski’s chief of staff, to be the assistant secretary of Energy for energy efficiency and renewable energy, the White House says. Garman has worked for the Alaska Republican since the start of Murkowski’s first Senate term, in 1981.
