Exxon maritime affiliate gets ecology award

Petroleum News Alaska

Houston-based SeaRiver Maritime Inc, the U.S. marine transportation affiliate of Exxon Mobil Corporation, has received a Washington state Department of Ecology award for its high standard of operations, notably an oil spill prevention plan for its tankers.

It is the second time since 1999 that SeaRiver has been recognized by the state and SeaRiver remains the only company to have met the department’s “exceptional compliance” standards. SeaRiver president Paul Revere said it is rewarding for the company to achieve standards that ensure “the highest delivery of safe transportation for our customers, the public and the environment.”

SeaRiver owns and operates U.S. flag oceangoing tankers, inland towboats, barges and harbor tugs and provides marine services including vessel and terminal vetting, chartering and marine requirements planning.
