Alaska North Slope tundra travel opens

Petroleum News Alaska Staff

The Alaska Department of Natural Resources opened tundra travel Dec. 20 on the North Slope for operators with existing permits for this activity. While there is the required 12 inches of snow, the department noted that due to strong winds, snow depths vary. Operators must choose routes that have at least six inches of snow.
