PETROLEUM DIRECTORY: Hilton Anchorage becomes first hotel in Alaska to offer electronic guest check-in kiosk in the lobby
The Hilton Anchorage recently completed the installation of an electronic guest check-in kiosk in the hotels lobby, making the Hilton the first hotel in the state to offer this service, the company said in a Sept. 13 press release.
“There is a growing number of worldwide business travelers that visit our hotel and have expressed the desire to have technology similar to the self service check-in process used at airports,” said Kevin Batters, general manager of Hilton Anchorage. “Providing this electronic kiosk service in the lobby is another way for the Hilton Anchorage to answer the needs of our guests for quick and convenient check-in.”
The Hilton’s electronic kiosk service augments guest services by providing services such as automatic pre-registration for HHonors upgrades, pre-sets all auto pay corporate accounts, and flags a guest’s special requests such as extra pillows, coupons or other requests, the company said. When a hotel guest checks-in at the lobby kiosk, the machine swipes the credit card for billing information and issues a room key.
Throughout the Hilton chain, 10 percent to 12 percent of daily check-ins and eight percent to 10 percent of daily check outs are made through the new system and guest satisfaction levels are very high.
The Hilton Anchorage is in downtown Anchorage. The hotel features 600 spacious guestrooms, three restaurants, 18,000 square feet of meeting and ballroom space, a 6,000 square foot conference center and an on-site Kinko’s® business center.
