Notice goes out on highway route

Petroleum News Alaska Staff

On March 6, Foothills Pipe Lines Alaska Inc. on behalf of Alaskan Northwest Natural Gas Transportation Co notified Bill Britt, Alaska’s gas pipeline coordinator, that it wanted the state to resume processing its right-of-way lease application for the construction and operation of the Alaska Highway gas pipeline.

Recently, Britt and Alaskan Northwest signed MOUs for review of the right of way application. The agreement calls for Alaskan Northwest to reimburse the state for the cost of processing the application.

On Aug. 9, the state put out a public notice saying that the Department of Natural Resources, through the Gas Pipeline Office, intends to resume processing the application.

For copies of the original application contact Britt at (907) 271-5070.
