Oil Patch Bits: BMAS hires Marie as director of safety
Bald Mountain Air Service said April 17 that Claire Marie has joined its team as director of safety. Marie advises management on all aviation safety and security issues. She also is implementing a new safety management system — SMS Pro™, a web-based SMS application that includes safety reporting, documentation, risk management and safety assurance. A life-long Alaskan, Marie’s past work experience includes serving as chief of the Joint Operations Center at the Department of Defense, U.S. Air Force, Joint Base Elmendorf Richardson. She also has worked for the state’s Division of Homeland Security and Emergency Management, as a transportation security specialist for TSA and as a DOD contractor. She has aviation experience in Alaska, California and Hawaii. Marie holds a master’s degree in security studies and a bachelor’s degree in management studies from the University of Maryland. BMAS is headquartered in Homer, with bases in Deadhorse and Anchorage and offers oil and mining industry support, government services and airplane medevac service for the Alaska Regional Hospital Life Flight program.
