BLM to hold Bighorn open house

The Bureau of Land Management is holding an open house at its field office in Worland, Wyo., on managing a new tract along the Bighorn Rover south of Winchester. The session will be on Jan. 20 from 4 p.m. to 8 p.m.

BLM obtained 187 acres along the border of Washakie and Hot Springs counties last year with money from the Land and Water Conservation Fund, which receives about $900 million annually from oil and gas leasing on the outer continental shelf.

BLM has been developing an environmental assessment for the land, which has been named the Elizabeth B. Eggert Nature Tract at the request of the former owners.

For more information, contact the Worland office at 307-347-5100 or email worland [email protected].
