Eastern North Slope’s Bullen Point Road work includes pipeline ROW

The Alaska Department of Transportation and Public Facilities published a request Feb. 4 for proposals for engineering design of the Bullen Point Road and a gas pipeline right of way.

Work is for the state’s proposed 50-mile road from the Dalton Highway to Bullen Point, and the preconstruction services include engineering, surveying geotechnical, hydrological and environmental services.

The Bullen Point Road would allow vehicle access to areas east of the Dalton Highway.

The pipeline work is for a right of way application from Point Thomson to facilities in Prudhoe Bay.

The department said the work is expected to run from March through the end of 2009 at a cost of $1 million or more.
