New drilling contractor readies rig

Kuukpik/H&R Drilling Alaska LLC, a new oil and gas drilling contractor in Alaska, is moving a Rigmasters 850 rig to the Unocal Swanson River field for an expected mid-June startup, Unocal Alaska Inc. told PNA May 17.

At the helm of the new company is Dale Larsen, former head of Pool Alaska Drilling prior to the company’s acquisition by Nabors Industries.

H&R Drilling advertised in May in the Anchorage Daily News classified section to fill 28 openings for tool pushers, drillers, derrick hands, motor hands, floor hands, and mechanic/electricians.
