Semco Energy Inc. of Port Huron, Mich., said March 13 that Anthony Izzo will succeed Barrett Hatches as president of its Enstar Natural Gas Co. division.

Hatches leaves to become president and CEO of Northern Indiana Public Service Co.

Before being named vice president of engineering and operations of Enstar in December 1999, Izzo was city president of the Battle Creek, Mich., Gas Division of Semco Energy. His 20-year career in the industry also includes experience at New Jersey Natural Gas Co. as general manager of distribution and construction.

“Since I came to Alaska in 1999, I have come to appreciate the unique characteristics of the community and its people, as well as the special features of operating a gas distribution company here,” Izzo said. “I’m very excited about this opportunity to play an even more intimate role in Enstar’s service to, and citizenship in, Alaska.”
