PETROLEUM DIRECTORY: Schlumberger updates Petrel technology

Schlumberger Information Solutions has released the latest version of its Petrel E&P workflow technology. The new release provides an integrated toolkit for reservoir modeling and subsurface interpretation. The release was announced Jan. 21.

The new release incorporates activities from seismic to simulation, including geological interpretation and case management for reservoir simulation. The new software allows users to run the Eclipse reservoir simulation models from within the integrated environment. There are new tools available for seismic classification and estimation of 3-D properties, as well as other improvements, the company says.
