Mining News: Northern Neighbors: Carmacks expansion potential confirmed
Copper North Mining Corp. Sept. 8 reported results from the first eight of 22 holes drilled at the Carmacks copper-gold project, Yukon. These holes cut oxide and sulphide copper mineralization at the 2000S structural zone, which is located 400 meters south of the edge of the proposed open-pit. The detailed drilling has confirmed the continuity and quality of these zones and the potential for expansion of mineral resources at Carmacks. Highlights from the drilling include: hole C15-02 cut 18.3 meters (estimated true width) averaging 0.72 percent copper, 0.34 grams per metric ton gold and 4.4 g/t silver; C15-05 cut 14.5 meters (estimated true width) averaging 0.57 percent copper, 0.21 g/t gold and 2.6 g/t silver; and C15-07 cut 24 meters (estimated true width) averaging 1.01 percent copper, 0.24 g/t gold and 3.4 g/t silver. Assays are pending from 14 holes drilled at Zone 13, which lies 300 meters southeast of Zone 2000S.
