Unocal applies to store natural gas

Petroleum News Alaska Staff

Unocal Oil Company of California has applied to the Alaska Oil and Gas Conservation Commission to inject natural gas for storage in the Swanson River unit 43-28 well at the Swanson River field.

The commission said Unocal was requesting an order to allow it to store natural gas in the well on a seasonal basis.

The commission has tentatively scheduled a hearing June 26, but said it may issue an order without a hearing if there are no requests for a hearing on the application.
