BLM issues call for NPR-A nominations

The Bureau of Land Management Alaska State Office has issued a call for nominations and comments on tracts for the upcoming 2016 National Petroleum Reserve-Alaska oil and gas lease sale.

A date was not provided, but in recent years BLM has held the NPR-A sale the same day in November as the state of Alaska’s North Slope, Foothills and Beaufort Sea areawide lease sales.

A map showing areas available for leasing is available at www.blm.gov/ak.

Nominations and comments are due May 2 and should be mailed to State Director, Bureau of Land Management, Alaska State Office, 222 West 7th Ave., Mailstop 13, Anchorage, AK 99513-7504.

BLM has 134 tracts under lease in the NPR-A, some 867,320 acres.
