Blowout prevention testing regulation change effective

The Alaska Oil and Gas Conservation Commission has amended its regulations on blowout prevention equipment, changing the maximum testing interval from seven days to 14 days, making other changes in timing requirements for blowout prevention equipment testing and adding reporting provisions relating to the use of blowout prevention equipment.

The regulation amendment was signed and filed by the lieutenant governor Sept. 24, and had an effective date of Oct. 24.
