Statewide Services Inc. is changing its name to Eurest Support Services effective Sept. 1. Statewide Services, the Alaska division of the Compass Group, said Aug. 1 that Eurest is the brand name of Compass Group’s Business and Industry Division, which manages several thousand food service contracts in the United States including IBM, Microsoft, Boeing, Ford and General Motors.
“Eurest is one of the best known and most highly respected names in the food service business,” said George Cuzzort, president of Eurest Support Services-Alaska. “It is a major international player in more than 70 countries with a proven track record of growth and innovation.”
“Compass Group recognizes that today’s clients are demanding more and more specialized services,” Cuzzort said. “As the world of contract food service is changing and developing, Compass is reshaping its resources, skills, experience and flexibility to meet the individual needs of companies both large and small. The benefits of one name will mean global consistency in terms of promotion and R&D to name a few,” he said.
Eurest Support Services-Alaska, which will remain headquartered in Anchorage, employs more than 200 people and provides catering and support services to operations throughout Alaska.
Globally the Compass Group has more than 200,000 employees and $17 billion in revenues. Compass’s North American Division has its headquarters in Charlotte, N.C., and has more than 60,000 employees and annual sales of $3 billion.
