Cook Inlet, Alaska Peninsula sales May 6
Bids will be opened May 6 for the annual Alaska Peninsula and Cook Inlet areawide competitive lease sales.
The Alaska Department of Natural Resources, Division of Oil and Gas, said March 16 that the public bid opening will be at 9 a.m. in the Dena’ina Civic and Convention Center in Anchorage.
In-person bid submission is May 4 from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. at Suite 800 of the Atwood Building, 550 W. 7th Ave., Anchorage, or by mail.

There are some 4 million onshore and 1.75 million offshore acres in the Alaska Peninsula areawide same, with 1,047 tracts ranging from 640 to 5,760 acres. The sale area is on the north side of the Alaska Peninsula from the Nushagak Peninsula in the north, south and west to the vicinity of Cold Bay.
The Cook Inlet areawide sale encompasses some 4.2 million acres in 815 tracts from 640 to 5,760 acres and consist of state-owned uplands in the Matanuska and Susitna river valleys generally south and west of Houston and Wasilla, the Anchorage bowl and the western shore of Cook Inlet from Beluga River to Harriet Point, along with tide and submerged lands in upper Cook Inlet from Knik Arm and Turnagain Arm south to Anchor River and Tuxedni Bay.
