Falcon acquires Louisiana prospects

Falcon Natural Gas said Sept. 27 that it has completed the $1 million acquisition of prospects on Louisiana’s Gulf Coast basin announced Aug. 12.

The original agreement called for Falcon to acquire oil and gas mineral rights extending over about 4,000 acres containing at least three significant prospects in the St. Mary Parish, La. The acreage is in the Avoca Minerals Area, one of the richest natural gas producing areas in North America. The three prospects represent a reserve potential of up to 570 billion cubic feet of gas, Falcon said.
