NPR-A oil and gas sale details released

Details for the Dec. 7 National Petroleum Reserve-Alaska oil and gas lease sale are available at the Bureau of Land Management’s Alaska website at www.blm.gov/ak.

Sealed bids must be received by 4 p.m. Dec. 5 at the BLM-Alaska State Office; bids will be opened at 1 p.m., Dec. 7, at the Anchorage Federal Building, Denali Room.

BLM is offering 283 tracts, some 3 million acres.

There are 31 tracts available in the high-potential area; those tracts have a minimum bid of $25 per acre. These tracts are in the northeastern corner of the sale area, north and northwest of the Bear Tooth unit and south of Harrison Bay.

The remainder of the sale acreage is in low-potential areas; those tracts have minimum bids of $5 per acre.

All tracts have 10-year terms.
