Mining News: Northern Neighbors: 3 Aces sample yields more than 110 oz. gold

Golden Predator Mining Corp. June 6 provided an update from the processing of an initial 750-ton bulk sample collected from its 3 Aces gold project in eastern Yukon Territory. Through June 3, 110.7 troy ounces of a gold concentrate have been recovered from 66.65 dry metric tons of sample material processed. This concentrate is estimated to contain 85.9 percent gold; 8.1 percent silver and 6 percent waste. Final analysis will be announced when the material is refined. The gold concentrate consists of recovered gold grains, mostly larger than a 100 mesh screen size. A sulfide concentrate is also being recovered that will be refined at a later date resulting in additional gold recovery. Head and tail grade samples were collected hourly and daily composites were made between April 23 and May 5. Calculated daily recoveries during this time ranged from 80.81 percent to 92.79 percent. “We are pleased with the daily recoveries demonstrated during this initial phase of our processing and look forward to reporting on our progress as we better understand the nature of our bulk sample,” said Golden Predator CEO Janet Lee-Sheriff. Samples collected after May 5 have yet to be submitted to the lab.
