New information call for fall lease sales

The State of Alaska has issued a call for new information for its 2013 Beaufort Sea, North Slope and North Slope Foothills areawide oil and gas lease sale.

The March 22 call says the lease sales are tentatively scheduled for October.

The Department of Natural Resources’ Division of Oil and Gas is requesting “substantial new information concerning these areas that has become available over the past year.”

Based on information received, the division will either issue supplements to the final best interest findings for the sale areas or decisions of no substantial new information.

The most recent findings and supplements are available at the division’s website: www.dog.dnr.alaska.gov/Leasing/BestInterestFindings.htm.

New information must be received by the division by 5 p.m. April 22.
