IOGCC boost “premier” energy education web site
Petroleum News Alaska Staff
The Interstate Oil and Gas Compact Commission has created a one-stop Internet shop for energy education with more than 500 links to energy education Web sites around the globe.
The Energy Education Clearinghouse, found at http://www.iogcc.state.ok.us/COMMPGS/Energy_Ed_Main_Page.htm, features energy-related information resources for teachers, students and parents.
It includes links to university programs in engineering and geoscience in Canada, Mexico and the United States; Web sites with training and data for petroleum professionals; and oil and natural gas museums. The clearinghouse also offers links to sites where educational materials can be purchased.
“This project was designed to give educators, students and members of the general public one Web site where they could find links to other energy-related sites that give them the information they need,” Christine Hansen, IOGCC executive director, said. “One stop on the Internet is all that is necessary to learn more about energy.” The clearinghouse was a project of the IOGCC Public Outreach Committee.
