Hilcorp permitting Kalotsa pad

Hilcorp Alaska LLC is permitting a pad and pipeline at the Ninilchik unit to support a development at the new Kalotsa pad and transportation to an existing facility in the unit.

The local subsidiary of the Texas-based independent is permitting a 237- by 339-foot gravel pad and associated pipeline with U.S. Army Corps of Engineers Alaska District.

The Ninilchik unit is the southern Kenai Peninsula of the Cook Inlet region. Hilcorp has devoted considerable investment in exploration and existing development at the unit.

Earlier this year, the company announced plans to build the Kalotsa pad toward the southern end of the unit, between the existing Susan Dionne and Paxton pads. The new drilling pad would support a two-well program into the Tyonek and Beluga formations.

The Army Corps is taking comments through July 21.
