Unocal begins permitting for well near Kasilof

Unocal Alaska has applied to the Alaska Oil and Gas Conservation Commission for a Class II underground injection well near Kasilof on the Kenai Peninsula. The Cohoe Unit No. 1 well would be 819 feet from the south line and 1,302 feet from the east line of section 8, T3N, R11W, Seward Meridian. Unocal is asking permission to inject Class II oil field wastes into formations that have been penetrated by the Cohoe Unit No. 1 well bore.
