Name change highlights PSI expansion

Petroleum News Alaska Staff

PSSI has changed its name to PSI Environmental and Instrumentation LLC to highlight the addition of environmental services to the company’s activities.

New services include hazardous waste characterization and site cleanup. The company just finished a cleanup of the ExxonMobil Orlan platform prior to its relocation to Sakhalin Island, Amie Mahler, co-owner of the firm said.

The company has provided instrumentation, gas detection, environmental monitoring and safety equipment since 1999 to clients such as Kuupik H&R Drilling, Doyon Drilling and Nabors Alaska Drilling, she said, adding, “We’re going to be busy this winter with all the new rigs starting up.”

The firm is also moving its Anchorage office to larger quarters at 1611 E. 1st Ave. to better serve its customers, Mahler said. The company’s other owner, Crystal Nygard, will continue to operate the company’s Soldotna office.
