Arctic Directory: Pete Mulcahy named finalist in 2013 Gold Pan Awards
Pete Mulcahy was recently named as a finalist for the Anchorage Chamber of Commerce’s 2013 Gold Pan Awards, URS Corp. announced Aug. 5.
The Gold Pan Awards are one of Anchorage’s longest-running business honors, now in its 56th year. The Anchorage Chamber of Commerce describes the nominees as individuals, organizations and businesses who show a commitment to community service as well as business and entrepreneurial excellence.
Mulcahy, business development manager for URS, was nominated in the distinguished community service by an individual, organization or small business category. He has been active in the community since moving to Alaska in 2000, and has been involved in numerous organizations including the Planning and Zoning Commission, Alaska Military Force Advocacy and Structure Team Advisory Committee, Board of Directors for Association of the United States Army, president of the Chugiak-Eagle River Chamber of Commerce, past president of Eagle River Area Rotary Club, former military liaison to the Anchorage School Board, Boy Scout Council, Eklutna District chairman, executive director of the Armed Services YMCA of Alaska, Knights of Columbus and teaching project management at UAA. In his role as Business Development Manager, Mulcahy brings his business knowledge to URS by establishing strategies to develop new business and by serving as a key client contact.
