Bakken Directory Spring 2014: Lee Tillman announced as keynote speaker for 2014 WBPC

The North Dakota Petroleum Council said Jan. 27 that Lee Tillman, president and chief executive officer of Marathon Oil Corp. will deliver the keynote address at the 22nd Annual Williston Basin Petroleum Conference. Tillman will address this year’s theme “Bakken Strong: Economy, Technology, Opportunity,” along with other Bakken producer CEOs, Harold Hamm of Continental Resources, Tommy Nusz of Oasis Petroleum, and Jim Volker of Whiting Petroleum. They are among the more than 70 industry experts who will speak about geology, investment, transportation, infrastructure, and other topics important to the Williston Basin during the Conference.

The conference and expo will be held in Bismarck, N.D., May 20-22. Registration for the WBPC opened Jan. 29. Exhibit space for the conference sold out in 17 minutes when North Dakota last hosted the conference in 2012, and more than 4,000 people registered, making it the largest event ever to be held in Bismarck-Mandan. The Bismarck Civic Center is undergoing an expansion, allowing for 500 booths in the exhibit hall, which is more than 150 additional spaces for this year.

The conference alternates between North Dakota and Saskatchewan, Canada, every other year and is sponsored by the North Dakota Petroleum Council, North Dakota Department of Mineral Resources and Government of Saskatchewan Ministry of the Economy.
